COACHING

Nowadays, Professional Coaching is a concept that is frequently heard. Many people who want to develop communication skills, develop personal skills, explore different perspectives, organize life, achieve success and reach their goal to live a more balanced, high quality and meaningful life, are getting support from Life Coaches. The number of companies that have added Professional Coaches is increasing day by day, this is done to increase the performance of their employees, to use the existing potential in the best way and to reach the determined targets in a short time and in an effective way.

What is the reason why the futurists describe coaching as “the profession of the future”?

In fact, there are three basic features that distinguish coaching from all other trainings. First of all, this work is carried out exclusively for the individual; the needs of the individual, the truths of the individual and his/her answers are essential. The person is helped to be organize in the most effecient way by using all the resouces he/she possesses. Here, the individual frees himself from his excuses and passes through his life, fully proactive. This is exactly where the internal leadership and thus the solution begins.

Another difference is that coaching does not include advice or counsel. The Coach is the one asking questions. With strong questions using a certain technique, light is shed in the dark places of the mind, so that the person reaches new information about himself and his possibilities. Sometimes, even with a “different point of view”, it creates the point that initiates the transformation. A true awareness of right-wrong patterns, useful-harmful conception.

A third difference of coaching is to plan for action. The sessions are held one day a week and the client receives the activities and assignments that he/she will carry out in his / her life for a week. The transformation of knowledge into experience is essential in coaching. This is the most important difference that distinguishes coaching practices from classroom training.

What are the differences between coaching, counseling or therapy?

Coaching is often confused with counseling, therapy or guidance. It is important to know and understand that coaching is not counseling or therapy. A Coach, doesn't tell you what to do or how to do it like an advisor does,. The ‘What?` and how?` quesdtions allow you to find your own answers.

The coach is not a therapist either, it is essential to create a road map for the future starting from today for everything that needs to change, transform and develop. The coach deals with the present and the future not the past. What do we have now? What is the situation now? And how can I walk with this one to the future, to my goal, or to a moment later?

On which cases should individuals take coaching?

There's no limit to that. If you tell me you can't decide what to eat tonight, maybe I can coach you for five minutes. On the other hand, we can also work on coaching for some months for your company's customer satisfaction, profitability, etc, on the basis of awareness and to be organized in terms of both internal and external conditions. Of course, depending on the situation, depending on hundreds of topics.

Personal development, decision-making and postponement problems, motivation, excitement of exams in children, communication, relationships, marriages, leadership, career, health, weight loss, smoking cessation, inner peace, vital satisfaction, etc...  We have said that there are 7 billion people living in the world and in this case 7 billion different topics may be on our agenda.

The main goal of executive coaching is to reveal the potential power and wealth of employees in their private and business lives and to help them transform their new days as leaders that add value to organizations and society.

According to the results of the research conducted at Case Western Reserve University, It is reported that coaching has 7 years impact on managers and companies.

According to the results of the research done by the International Personal Management Association, the increase in the productivity of the training supported by coaching is 88%.

With the investment they invest in coaching, they reach many positive results such as changes demanded by the rapidly changing business world, easier and faster adaptation of the employee, showing more effective performance in new roles and responsibilities that are developing contrary to innovations, increasing confidence in preparing individuals to a higher level, developing skills, getting competence, reaching goals, improving relations and increasing commitment to the institution.

What should they do if they want to include professional coaching in their career path?

First of all, it is necessary to take basic coaching training from people or companies with experienced and strong references. The fact that the person is open to continuous development, capable of listening effectively, and, most importantly, wants to do this with the value of providing benefits to people and institutions is indispensable on the basis of competence. However, experience is very important in coaching. For this reason, the coach must be able to receive mentoring support in the follow-up processes after the training. For those who want to receive this training, it is important to pay particular attention whether the institution provides these opportunies or not.
